About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:30, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current Emergency Department experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC (PALS preferred) Must-Have: - Candidates must have at least 2 years of current ED experience. - BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications are required. - PALS certification is preferred. - Must pass EKG exam. Job Description: - Work in a busy emergency department with 33 beds and a staff of 85. - Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCTs (CNAs), and 2 sitters. Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCTs (CNAs), and 2 sitters. - Patient ratios are typically 4:1, occasionally 5:1 during critical situations. - Use Philips monitors and EPIC EMR system for patient care. - Perform typical procedures including chest tubes, central line/arterial line placement, sedation, rapid infusion, wound care, target temperature management, and EKGs. - Embrace a fast-paced environment requiring dependability, punctuality, strong stress management, teamwork, and good communication skills with providers, coworkers, and leadership. - Follow dress code: Navy scrubs, no fake nails, ensure hair is kept away from the face, and no Crocs with holes.
