About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Day/Night Rotate (3x12s), first to float, 2 out of every 6 weekends, holidays as needed **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS **Must-Have:** Ability to mix own medications, assist with respiratory meds/equipment/intubation. **Job Description:** - Manage a diverse patient population with various medical needs, including acute illness, severe injuries, chest pain, respiratory distress, neurological conditions, allergic reactions, infectious diseases, intoxication, psychiatric emergencies, and trauma cases. - Provide care with a Nurse-to-Patient ratio of 1:4 for stable patients and 1:1 or 1:2 for critically ill patients, with staffing adjusted based on patient influx and acuity. - Demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication, adaptability, and teamwork. - Exhibit empathy, clinical competence, time management, and professionalism. - Interpret and read own strips. - Assist in procedures or codes in the ER and float to the Medical Surgical unit as needed based on staffing needs and skill set. - Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards of care. - Participate in unit/department-specific orientation for a minimum of 2 days. - Wear any color scrubs as per department guidelines. **Additional Notes:** - On average, treat 8-25 patients per day. - No separate triage or psych/seclusion rooms; travelers will triage patients. - Utilize common drips like Insulin, Heparin, Levofed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Propofol. - Support available from full-time tech (11a-11p) and float CNA (11p-11a). - Radiology department adjacent to ER with full imaging services. - RN staff may be required to conduct blood draws when needed. - Professional attributes include adaptability, critical thinking, empathy, and teamwork skills.
