About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** ER/Medsurg Swing RN **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12H Day/Night Rotate - 3x12s, Every Other Weekend, Holidays as needed **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in ER and prior Medsurg experience **License:** Active RN license required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required); PALS (preferred) **Must-Have:** 2 years of ER experience **Job Description:** - Work in an ER/Medsurg Swing unit with a trauma level IV, STEMI receiving, and Stroke designation. - Manage a section with 4 beds and 2 trauma bays without a Fast Track area. - No separate Triage area; travelers are not required to do Triage. - ER holds are intermixed within the ER without separate Psych/seclusion rooms. - No in-house security in the ER. - On average, treat 10 patients in the ER per day. - An ED physician is generally present per shift. - Charge nurse present each shift and participates in patient care. - Nurse aides and EMTs on-call; respiratory therapists are not 24/7 in the ER. - RNs are responsible for reading their own strips with Mindray Tele monitors. - Labs are drawn by lab staff; X-Ray and CT transport is available. - Shifts are scheduled as Day/Night Rotate 7a-7p, 7p-7a, with blocked scheduling considered. - Weekend and holiday work required per schedule. - Floating to Med/surg and Swing bed on the same unit may be required. - Dress code is navy blue scrubs. - Orientation includes 12-hour shifts.
