About The Position
**Job Title:** Nurse Coordinator II **Job Specialty:** Manager - Perioperative Services **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Five (5) years of recent nursing experience in a hospital environment; Three (3) years of recent perioperative experience as a nurse supervisor or charge nurse **License:** Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Illinois **Certifications:** Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) **Must-Have:** Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with additional postgraduate coursework in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration **Job Description:** - Responsible for organizing, planning, leading, and directing clinical and management activities for Perioperative Services areas, including the Main Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Same Day Surgery, Holding, and Pre-Procedural Testing Unit. - Accountable for daily operations and oversight of nursing practice and patient care delivery during the evening shift. - Collaborate with the Director of Perioperative Services and other healthcare professionals to develop evidence-based nursing care standards. - Ensure efficient throughput of patients in the OR and PACU to minimize patient delays and long stays. - Lead staff to meet all regulatory standards. - Must have knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, disciplinary processes, hiring, supervision, and management of Perioperative Services staff. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Master's Degree in Nursing - Certification as a Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurse (ASPAN), or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) **Additional Information:** - Required COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, with medical or religious exemptions considered. - Floating may be required to various units within a 50-mile radius as needed. - Limited to 5 days of requested time off, with restrictions around holidays and weekends. - Orientation consists of 24 hours.
