NICU/PICU and Adults need.NICU level 4 with L&D and PICU level 1 trauma and transplant experience would be ideal.Typically the NICU is also assigned to adult floors or adult ICUs. Can’t guarantee NICU every shift. Would be bumped out when we prioritize our permanent staff to work in NICU.1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Types and ages of patients, number of roomsBasic floor care respiratory therapy: Nebulizers and MDI’s, bronchial hygiene (CPT), Volume Expansion (PEP), CPAP & BiPAP all ages (infant to geriatric).In addition we need the following skills: Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) experience and Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) experience already familiar with the Servoi, SiPAP, and Sensormedics 3100A (HFOV) ventilator machines and blood gas analysis. Familiar with electronic chartingOr in addition we need the following skills: Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) experience already familiar with the Servoi, ventilator extubation protocols, and ABG’s. Familiar with electronic charting2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) What equipment is attached to the clinic, x-ray, lab or do they have to send out for these? What hospitals will have privileges if any Computerized charting with EPIC, supply and medication pyxis machines, 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Skills may include anything from Surgical (Ortho, Neuro, CV, etc.) Family Practice, Cardiology, Geriatrics, etc. Minimum 2 years’ experience in floor care therapy. Minimum 2 years’ experience with intensive care therapy. 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (BLS, ACLS, NCCPA/AANP) Is a national certification required? Is a DEA, Prescriptive Authority required?BLS, ACLS if working in the AICU, NRP if working in NICU, PALS if working in PICU5. Shift or schedule requirements. (What support staff are in the clinic; Is a doctor available by phone, in the clinic, etc.) Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?Options: Full time 12 hour days for Floors/AICU coverage (3 days a week including weekends), Full time 12 hour nights for NICU/PICU coverage (3 days a week including weekends), or varied hours for floors (days, evenings, nights) full time. No required call, but can be on a call list for additional shifts if needed.6. Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff?Patient numbers will vary based on workload; Lead Therapist 24/7 for support and additional support staff during regular business hours7. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 8. Dress Code:Scubs (any color) or business casual 9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Orientation will be five to six 8-12 hour shifts; additional training if needed will be provided.
