Job Description: The pharmacist(s) will play a crucial role in prescription accuracy and patient counseling at Lower Brule PHS-IHS Health Care Center in South Dakota, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
The requirement is as on demand basis to a max totaling to 1040 hours or until 31-Aug 2024.

License/Certifications:
- Graduate of a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency.
- Current, active, unrestricted license from any of the 50 US states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.
- current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Description: The pharmacist(s) will play a crucial role in prescription accuracy and patient counseling at Lower Brule PHS-IHS Health Care Center in South Dakota, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
The requirement is as on demand basis to a max totaling to 1040 hours or until 31-Aug 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Reading medication orders from prescriptions and processing them in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring completeness, appropriateness, and checking for allergies.
- Verifying that all prescribed medications are on the Lower Brule Service Unit formulary and checking for drug-drug and drug-food interactions.
- Independently working and potentially being the sole pharmacist on certain occasions.
- Entering prescriptions into the computer software system, accurately filling prescriptions, and counseling patients on medications.
- Reviewing medication orders for completeness, appropriateness, and interactions, clarifying orders with prescribers when necessary.
- Interacting with other medical professionals within the clinic to address issues related to ordering and delivering medications.
- Maintaining complete records, especially for controlled medications.
Requirements:
- Graduation Certificate from an Accredited Pharmacy School.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist within the past 36 months.
- BLS
- Pharmacist License
- Current immunization record, including COVID-19 vaccines.
- Name and phone number of three (3) professional references.
