Position Overview:
We are looking to employ an experienced and empathetic Registered Nurses (RN) who will play a crucial role in providing and coordinating patient care. The Registered Nurse in this role will also educate patients and the public about various health conditions and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families. They will ensure that patient care is conducted according to the policies and standards of their employer in varied healthcare settings. The Registered Nurses (RN) may often wear many hats daily to provide the best care and treatment to their patients.
Some of the duties of this role are required but also are not limited to: Patient Assessment, Care Planning, Medication Administration, Patient Education, Treatment Procedures, Collaboration and Communication, Advocacy, Compliance with Standards, and Emotional Support.
As a Registered Nurse you will engage with many types of people in your working environment, and you will be in various situations which will require strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Travel PCU Registered Nurse in Albuquerque, NM
- The duration in weeks is 13
- The working schedule for this role is 12 hour Days shift position - start time 0700- 3 Weekend shifts in a 4 week scheduling period - Shifts will be in the Emergency Department tending to Progressive Care level patients who are awaiting an inpatient bed
- Guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekends are as needed
- Holidays are as needed
- On-Call requirements to be clarified on interview

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
- Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
- Recording patient vital signs and medical information
- Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
- Working with healthcare team members to evaluate, assess and implement patient nursing care
Qualifications:
- Current and unencumbered RN state licensure
- 2 years experience current required in an 18 plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit required
- Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment

2 years’ experience current required in an 18 plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit required. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
CERTIFICATIONS: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. EPIC EMR experience preferred. Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
SHIFTS: 12 hour Days shift position - start time 0700- 3 Weekend shifts in a 4 week scheduling period - Shifts will be in the Emergency Department tending to Progressive Care level patients who are awaiting an inpatient bed. Ratios will be the same as the typical inpatient unit. Nurses will tend to the patients just as they would on an inpatient unit, only the location will differ. However, staff may fluctuate to fulfill other department staffing needs. On call and holidays may be required. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location and to all areas in which they are trained, including alternate holding areas to care for appropriate patients, including PresNow ED/UC (freestanding urgent/emergent care facilities)
ORIENTATION: 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training.
SCRUBS: For RNs ONLY (does not apply to OR as those are provided) RNs may wear ANY solid color. The scrub top, pant, and jacket (if worn) must be the same solid color to match.
