Job Requirements
- Shift: 0630-1900, 1830-0700
- Weekend Requirement: Every other
- Holiday Requirements: As needed to meet unit needs
- Self-scheduling: Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule
- Floating Requirements: Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care

- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non-titratable)
- Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- available CNAs fluctuates based on unit census
- RT Equipment: BiPAP, Airvo
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, RNs must read and interpret
Unit Specific Information
- # of Beds: 33
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure
- Floating to other units as needed
- Scrubs/Dress Code: RN: Navy Blue
- Orientation: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor
- Additional Notes: Busy patient flow- admitting and discharging within the same 6-hour time frame while also completing shift change.
