About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Must have oncology experience; 1.5 years preferred. Experience with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio in Stepdown (SD) or PCU is required. Travel experience is preferred. License: Any state RN license accepted; compact license now accepted. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS Certification preferred Must-Have: - Experience in oncology - Sickle cell experience and chemo certification are strongly preferred - EPIC experience - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment - Ability to read and interpret strips Job Description: - No block schedule; 36 or 48 hours - ICUs experience does not count towards SD/PCU experience at this facility - Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6 - Must float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units - Fitted for N95 masks prior to working on the high-risk respiratory unit, unless PAPR is needed - Traveler will be first to float based on discretion; can float to less than 10-15 miles from the main campus - Available to work every other weekend/holiday - Facility reserves the right to cancel 3 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract - Facility reserves the right to cancel agreement with 2 weeks' notice Unit Details: - 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients - Mixed acuity, serving both Med Surg and Advanced Care patients - Handles blood products and chemotherapy, along with skills such as drips, PCAs, wounds, and more - Nurses administer chemotherapy with ONS Certification - Dress code is navy blue scrubs
