About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Special Care Nursery/NICU **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30), Every Other Weekend **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** BLS, NRP, STABLE **Must-Have:** Competence in couplet care in postpartum and ability to attend deliveries **Job Description:** - Work in a Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery with a focus on specialized care for babies born with low birth weight, prematurity, and those recovering from serious conditions. - Manage a unit with 10 beds, handling patient ratios of 1-3 depending on acuity. - Use EPIC for charting and document care effectively. - Provide care for common diagnoses such as respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, stabilization of patients below 33 weeks, and transitioning newborns. - Administer typical drips, TPN, and lipids, as well as manage vents, Bubble CPAP, and high flow. - Collaborate with in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, IV Team, Respiratory Therapists, and Pharmacy staff who are available 24/7. - Must have experience with postpartum couplet care, including well newborns and maternal care. - Participate in floor-specific orientation, including compliance and EPIC training. - Rotate holidays with permanent staff, with a weekend requirement of every other weekend on days or nights. - Scrubs are provided by the facility. This position requires no floating outside of the NICU. Candidates should be experienced with stabilization and attending both high and low-risk deliveries.
