It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Our specialties include cardiac care, neurosciences and oncology. We have surgical services, orthopedics, kidney transplants and emergency care. We offer three ER locations, including two off campus ER located in Burleson and White Settlement. Medical City Fort Worth is a designated comprehensive stroke center. We are a Joint Commission chest pain center. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals. Patients are ensured access to medical experts and advanced healthcare innovations across the network.Job Summary and QualificationsUnder the supervision of the Director of Progressive Care, the NSMS Nurse Manager shares 24-hour accountability and additional responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the Neurosurgical Medical Surgical department. Functions will be performed in accordance with the nurse practitioner in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.Assures quality of care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.Functions effectively as an interdisciplinary team member.Accepts responsibility for assurance that quality patient care is provided consistently according to hospital and departmental standards and policies/procedures.Accepts accountability and responsibility for achievement of operational and capital budget goals.Performs hourly rounding and responds promptly to call lights and patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.Uses job knowledge and proficiency of skills to successfully assist in orientation of new employees.Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste of time and/or supplies, and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.What qualifications you will 5 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE LEADERSHIP experience in ICU or Neurological unit.Graduate of an accredited professional School of Nursing with a Bachelor in Science of Nursing (BSN).Clinical practice within 2-5 years.Current clinical practice in area of expertise.LICENSURE/ RN licensure by the State of Texas or from a Compact State if you declare the Compact State your Primary State of Residence.Basic Life Support (BLS).Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
