Job Description
- Registered Nurses are responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery.
- The Registered Nurse providers clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift
Hours: Varies as needed - FT, PT, or PRN available
Responsibilities
• Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
• Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members
• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
• Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery
• Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed.
• Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, team building annually. (This is in addition to required unit/patient specific education.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
• Reports data and outcomes to as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines.
• Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
• Knowledge - In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
• Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
• Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
• Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
• Provides leadership and supervision to health care team during assigned shift.
• Provides performance feedback to team members input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals, Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
• Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
• Serves as strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
• Teaching - Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
