About The Position
**Job Title:** RN (Registered Nurse) **Job Specialty:** MS Tele Interim Manager **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12H Nights, every other weekend, first to float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Cerner experience, strong central line experience, compassionate care skills, teaching aptitude **Job Description:** - Work in all medical-surgical telemetry units with a bed count of 27. - Maintain patient ratios of 1 to 5 in med-surg or 1 to 4 for chemo/tele patients. - Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient charting and documentation. - Serve as Nurse Shift Manager without patient assignments, with support from a resource nurse for tasks and breaks. - Collaborate with two Nurse Aides per shift for optimal patient care. - Commit to working one weekend shift every two weeks; holiday commitment includes two major holidays and one minor holiday. - Wear navy scrubs; remote telemetry managed by monitor technicians. - Utilize hospitalists available 24/7; respiratory therapy and pharmacy also available 24/7. - Manage floor-specific orientation over one shift if needed for Cerner, and two shifts on units. - Provide care for common diagnoses including general medical-surgical, GYN, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, some spine cases, and joint cases. - Care includes 7 private oncology suites for patients with a history of oncology treatment, not necessarily undergoing active chemotherapy. - Offer compassionate and educational interactions with patients, focusing on patient-centered care. - No experience required with acute strokes, acute cardiac, drips, or pediatric patients under 15. - Support available for PICC and midline placements; no experience needed with ventilators. This role involves floating to other medical-surgical units as needed and requires a candidate who is comfortable with patient diversity and unit variability.
