Regulatory Requirements:
A. Current Colorado Registered Nurse license.
B. Current BLS certification.
C. Current Fetal Heart Monitoring certification within one year of hire
D. Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification within one year of hire
E. Current STABLE certification within one year of hire
I.Job Summary:
§Provides direct and indirect patientcare in the OB/GYN/NUR setting.
§Provides assessment and planning for individualized patientcare.
§ Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies.
§Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
§Participates in performance improvement activities.
II.Demonstrates competency in the followingareas:
A.Knowledge of medications and their correctadministration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
B.Ability to assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatalresuscitation.
C.Ability to competently care for laboring patients including vaginal exams assessing pain levels and utilizingpain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
D.Ability to performa head-to-toe assessment on infants and adults and reassessments as per policy.
E.Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care revise plan as indicated by the patient’s responseto treatment and evaluate overallplan daily for effectiveness.
F.Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurseco-workers and physicians.
G.Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
H.Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary.
I.Participates at all times in maintaining a safe and functional working environment.
J.Demonstrates ability to assist physicians with labor/delivery gynecological and newborn procedures.
K.Demonstrates an abilityto be flexible organized and function under stressful situation.
L.Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity serving as the advocate as necessary. Identifies and addressespsychosocial cultural ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families.
M.Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.

N.Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Motivates others in a positive manner. Leads by professional example.
O.Documentation meets currentstandards and policies.
P.Manages and operatesequipment safely and correctly sends requisitions via Meditech or WebTMA when repairs are needed. Stocks supplies as needed.
Q.Pain management assessment technique utilized. Educatesthe patient and family regarding pain management.
R.Makes productive use of time.
S.Demonstrates knowledge of fetal monitoring. Identifies FHR patternsand treats appropriately.
T.Core measures have been reviewed/I know what core measures are.
III.Professional Requirements:
A.Adheres to dress code appearance is neat and clean.
B.Completes annual educational requirements responsible for own professional growth on an ongoing basis.
C.Maintains regulatory requirements functions within limitsof State Nursing Practice Act.
D.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
E.Reports to work on time and as scheduled completes work within the designated time.
F.Wears identification whileon duty uses computerized punchtime system correctly.
G.Attends annual review and mandatoryin-services as scheduled.
H.Attends at least 75staff meetings.
J.Actively participates in quality improvement activities.
K.Complies with all organizational policiesregarding ethical businesspractices.
L.Observes facility policiesconcerning telephone usagesmoking and other rules governing conduct at work.
M.Communicates the missionethics and goalsof the facility as well as the focus statement of the department.
IV.Regulatory Requirements:
A.Current Colorado Registered Nurse license.

VII.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands repetitively to finger handlegrasp or feel objects tools or controls reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk and taste or smell. The employee is required to hear alarms on equipment client calls and instructions from physicians/department staff. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 poundsand frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by his job include closevision distance vision and the ability to identify and distinguish colors and the ability to adjust focus.
