- Schedule is done by unit scheduler
- Weekend Requirements: Every other
- Holiday Requirements: Varies, based on unit needs

- Department: ICU
Unit Specific Information
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, if we do have downgrades we staff the medical patients at 1:5 and PCU at 1:4
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, neuro
- RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, Insulin, TNK, Heparin, IV Antibiotics, Sedatives
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1 tech until we get to 20 and then 2 techs up to 24
- Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: 24/7 critical care coverage, E-ICU staffed with nurse and APRN 24/7
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Vents, BiPAPs
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret
- Floating Requirements: Will float to PCU and Medical floors
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week system orientation and onboarding. 1-2 12 hour shifts of unit orientation
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be affiliated with certain healthcare providers.
