About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: CA RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, CPI Must-Have: - 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department with STEMI, Stroke, and Level 2 or Level 3 trauma services - Experience working with patients of all ages, from birth to geriatric Job Description: - The Emergency Department is a fast-paced unit with a focus on trauma, stroke, pediatric, and cardiac care. - The department is in the process of expanding from 31 to 36 beds by 2026. - Staffed with 8-10 nurses per shift, including a charge nurse and break nurse, along with 3 technicians. - The patient ratio is 4:1, adhering to California state standards for admit assignments. - Nurses will be using equipment such as Belmont and Level 1 Rapid Infusers, Alaris pumps, and GE and Philips monitors. - Uses Meditech for electronic medical records. - Nurses are expected to have skills in handling acute stroke, STEMI, trauma, and cardiac care, including IVs, drips, conscious sedation, intubation/vent care, trauma care, and more. - Peds and GYN care, as well as ortho and wound care, are part of the typical procedures. - Inpatient holding of admits is expected. - The ideal candidate is a self-starter, team-oriented, extremely flexible, and patient-focused. - Weekend shifts are required: 4 weekend shifts per month and holidays as assigned. - Dress code requires scrubs with no words or inappropriate designs, naturally occurring hair color, and the wearing of underwear. Please note that negotiation of time off must be agreed upon prior to contract start, and requests will be honored.
