Job Details
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC.
- Must have an active AZ license or compact.
- MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF TRAUMA LEVEL 1 EXPERIENCE; WILL SCREEN 8 MONTHS+
- MUST HAVE CERNER EXPERIENCE, PLEASE NOTE ON RESUME UNDER WORK HISTORY TO CONFIRM HOW RECENT
- Basic Dysrhythmia Exam Required PRIOR to sending the contract, 2 attempts, if failed, candidate is DNU with CS AZ and Sacramento for 6 months
- Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Preferred Certs: TNCC and ATCN
- ENPC not allowed to replace PALS Cert
Job Requirements
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
- Shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 1p-1a
- 4 weekend shifts per month, at unit discretion
- 12 Hour Shifts, 1900-0730, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Floor specific orientation: 2-3 shifts on the floor.
Schedule Information
- Unit: ED / Trauma
- Ratios: 1:4 ratio
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: 2 Charge RNs - will task or have light patient load.
- Nurse Aides: 4-PCTs for sitters.
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Tele: Phillips monitors, must be able to read strips.
- Vents: Managed by RT
- Hospitalist or Intensivists in house: Minimum of 2 MDs or as many as 8. Midlevels also utilized. Anesthesia
- IV Team: Core RNs are US trained.
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes, Pharmacist in ER 10hrs/day
- Floating: Float within ER.
- # beds: Acute - 36 and Subacute - 54. Trauma bays - 6 (no travelers)
- Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Trauma, Burns and Peds transferred out.
Unit Specific Information
- The hospital expects that every nurse is competent in these areas, especially maintaining sterile field, as these are nursing skills that are performed frequently. Lifts, restraints, & wound care just educational based since the equipment & policies can be different facility to facility.
- Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Trauma, Burns and Peds transferred out. CP Center, Spinal Cord TBIN certification. 88,000 patients per year, 250-300 per day.
- 30-40 psych holds. 2 years ER experience.
- Float Policy: Can be float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and the 2 Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale. (4 facilities total) about 30 mins apart, can be floated midshift
