About The Position
Job Title: Medical Technologist (MT) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technologist (MT) to join our laboratory team. In this critical role, you will perform complex laboratory tests and analyses that are essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. As an MT, you will work with advanced laboratory technology and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, contributing significantly to patient care. Key Responsibilities Laboratory Testing: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, including hematology, microbiology, immunology, and clinical chemistry, ensuring adherence to established protocols and quality standards. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, troubleshooting any issues that arise in testing processes. Sample Analysis: Analyze and interpret test results, correlating findings with clinical data to support physicians in making informed diagnostic and treatment decisions. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control data in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pathologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective laboratory services, participating in interdisciplinary team discussions as necessary. Training and Supervision: Mentor and train new laboratory staff and students, ensuring they adhere to laboratory policies and procedures. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field; graduates from an accredited program are preferred. Certification: Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred, but recent graduates with relevant internships will be considered. Technical Skills: Proficient in laboratory testing techniques and equipment, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all laboratory processes.
