Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist
Location: Rome, GA
Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs laboratory analysis on specimens, contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in all technical duties.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct laboratory analyses adhering to quality assurance guidelines.
- Prepare reagents and manage inventory to minimize waste.
- Exercise clinical judgment to assess priorities and troubleshoot test systems.
- Assist in the review and revision of procedures to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain clear communication with shifts and leadership regarding operational issues.
- Participate in planning and implementing changes to improve processes.
Physical Requirements:
Works in a fast-paced clinical environment with biohazardous materials. Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light to moderately heavy loads.
Skills:
- Associate's degree required; MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required within one year of hire.
Education:
Associate's degree required; MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required within one year of hire.
