Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and Evaluate Patients: Perform thorough assessments of patients with respiratory issues, including obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and monitoring vital signs.
• Administer Respiratory Therapy: Provide direct respiratory care, including but not limited to, administering oxygen therapy, inhalation treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
• Perform Diagnostic Testing: Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, and chest X-rays.
• Assist in Ventilator Management: Manage and adjust ventilators for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, including monitoring and troubleshooting ventilator settings and functions.
• Provide Education: Educate patients and their families about respiratory health, disease management, and therapy options.
• Monitor Patient Progress: Track patient responses to therapy and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Report significant changes to the medical team.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, including code blue and respiratory distress, to provide critical care and resuscitation efforts.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress in electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, respiratory protocols, and safety guidelines. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
