The Heavy Duty Tire Technician is responsible for performing inspection, repair, and replacement of tires on heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, buses, and commercial fleets. This role requires ensuring that tires are properly balanced, mounted, and inflated while maintaining a high standard of safety and service. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential tire services to commercial vehicles and ensuring optimal performance for clients. Candidates must have a modern smartphone with an active internet connection to efficiently manage orders and assignments through the company app. Proficiency in navigating mobile applications, digital platforms, and app-based workflows is essential for seamless task execution and communication.
Job Specifics
- Perform thorough inspections of tires on heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks, buses, and commercial fleets.
- Repair and replace tires, ensuring accurate balancing and mounting of large tires.
- Patch leaks, repair punctures, and verify tire inflation levels.
- Follow established safety standards and guidelines while working with heavy-duty equipment and tools.
- Document services provided, including tire condition and repairs, ensuring accurate service records.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Work with mounting equipment and assist in fleet tire management.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification in heavy-duty tire repair or related fields is a plus.
Experience
- Previous experience with heavy-duty tire repair is essential.
- Familiarity with tire safety standards and tire mounting equipment.
- 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty tire repair.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
- Experience working in fleet service environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of advanced tire repair techniques, including retreading and complex repairs.
