About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Echo Technician (Cardiac Sonographer) to join our cardiology team. In this role, you will use non-invasive ultrasound technology to capture detailed images of the heart and blood vessels, aiding physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions such as heart disease, valve disorders, and congenital heart defects. You will work directly with patients, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring their comfort and safety during the procedure.
Key Responsibilities:-
Perform Echocardiograms:
- Conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms to assess cardiac structure, function, and blood flow.
- Use Doppler technology to evaluate blood flow velocity, valvular function, and cardiac output.
- Perform stress echocardiograms (during exercise or pharmacologic stress tests) to evaluate the heart’s function under stress.

Patient Care:
- Explain the procedure to patients and ensure their understanding of the process.
- Position patients appropriately for the procedure, ensuring their comfort and optimal image quality.
- Observe patients during the procedure and report any concerns to the physician or cardiologist immediately.

Image Acquisition and Quality Control:
- Capture clear, high-quality images of the heart using ultrasound equipment.
- Evaluate images for completeness and accuracy, adjusting equipment settings as necessary to obtain the best possible images.
- Perform post-processing of images to create accurate reports for review by cardiologists or physicians.

Interpretation and Reporting:
- Record and document all echocardiogram findings, measurements, and observations in patient medical records.
- Assist cardiologists or physicians in interpreting the results of echocardiograms to diagnose conditions such as heart disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and congenital defects.
- Communicate findings to the physician in a timely manner and provide assistance with patient follow-up care recommendations.

Patient Safety and Comfort:
- Ensure patient safety during the procedure, including infection control and radiation safety protocols (if applicable).
- Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients, especially those with anxiety or concerns about their condition.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the proper execution of diagnostic imaging and care plans.
- Effectively communicate with patients, providing clear instructions and addressing concerns before, during, and after the exam.

Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and calibrate echocardiography equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate technical team.
- Ensure that all necessary supplies, including ultrasound gel and patient preparation materials, are available and stocked.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Accurately document all procedures, patient details, and any relevant observations in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure all images are correctly labeled, stored, and transmitted according to hospital or clinic protocols.

- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in echocardiography techniques and technologies.
- Participate in ongoing education, certifications, and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
