Certification Details
- Level 1 trauma and Siemen's experience is required
- Staff will be required to float among radiology clinics and divisions associated with BWH as needed.
- Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol.
- Explains exam to patient taking into consideration physical and emotional needs; maintains ethical standards.
- Delivers patient care under scope of license / training.
- To notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.
- Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions as necessary for each patient exam.
- Performs venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate CEU's.
- May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
- Prepare the equipment room and supplies necessary for each patient and daily use.
- To acknowledge and participate in research programs, quality assurance and quality improvement projects.
- To assume responsibilities for on-call coverage and remain flexible in shift coverage and overtime situations.
- Rotates within department, divisions and off site clinics, by shifts as required and cooperates with all personnel.
- Transport and transfer patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.
- Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative under pressure when performing patient exams.
- Performs all other duties as directed.
Job Details
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology.
- Possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Be Registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
- Must meet and maintain the ARRT CT certification.
- 2-3 years experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred.
- At least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses preferred.
- Must have interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients.
Job Requirements
- A completed primary COVID-19 vaccination series is required. No exemptions or waivers will be considered.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season.
