Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist (CT Tech) to join our radiology team!The CT Tech will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans of patients to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. This includes preparing patients for the procedure, operating CT scanners, ensuring proper imaging techniques, and providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient with CT imaging equipment, and dedicated to maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:

Performing CT Scans:
- Perform CT scans as ordered by physicians, including routine, contrast-enhanced, and specialized exams, based on the patient’s clinical needs.
- Prepare patients for CT procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients appropriately and use CT imaging equipment to capture clear and accurate diagnostic images.
- Adjust imaging parameters as necessary to optimize image quality and reduce radiation exposure.

Patient Care and Safety:
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during the CT procedure by monitoring vital signs and addressing any patient needs.
- Administer intravenous (IV) contrast media under the supervision of a physician or radiologist, and monitor the patient for any adverse reactions.
- Ensure that the patient is positioned correctly, preventing any unnecessary movement that could affect image quality.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Image Quality and Technique:
- Use appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to produce high-quality CT images that assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and completeness before submitting them for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to adjust imaging protocols when necessary to obtain the best results for specific patient conditions.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain the CT scanner and related imaging equipment, ensuring the machine is functioning properly and performing routine maintenance as needed.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions and notify the appropriate team for technical repairs.
- Ensure that CT equipment is cleaned and disinfected according to infection control protocols after each use.

Radiation Safety:
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize exposure to both patients and staff.
- Use lead shields, protective barriers, and other radiation safety equipment as necessary.
- Follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to ensure minimal radiation exposure while maintaining high image quality.

Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Accurately document all procedures performed, including patient details, contrast media used, and any issues encountered during the procedure.
- Ensure that all imaging studies are properly entered into the electronic health record (EHR) system for review by physicians and radiologists.
- Maintain accurate records of patient history, pre- and post-procedure instructions, and any follow-up needs.

- Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and nursing staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist with complex cases and to address patient concerns or questions.
- Provide clear instructions to patients before, during, and after the procedure to ensure they understand the process and any post-procedure care requirements.

- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment during procedures.
- Clean and disinfect CT equipment and examination rooms between uses to prevent cross-contamination.
- Adhere to hospital protocols regarding patient preparation, contrast media administration, and equipment maintenance.
