About the Job
We are currently recruiting for a Transportation Operations Manager in the Santa Clarita area. The position will oversee the safe, efficient, and proper operation of routes in line with company policies and standards.
- Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Oversee three supervisors, three dispatchers, and a full bin shop and yard attendants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, assign, and supervise all operation supervisors, departments, and container department employees across all locations.
- Develop, maintain, and implement operating procedures.
- Review and interpret operating data, making necessary changes in consultation with the Division Manager to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
- Hire operational personnel and implement effective training and safety programs to ensure employees meet job classification requirements and are prepared for their responsibilities.
- Assist the Division Manager in developing operational strategies and preparing budgets.
- Collaborate with managers in other departments to ensure business coordination.
- Coordinate with other managers to optimize resource utilization, adjust routes, and address operational issues.
- Prioritize resolving employee conflicts, addressing disputes, safety, and performance issues, and retaining appropriate documentation in employee personnel files.
- Coach and develop employees through continuous communication, providing guidance for improvement and recognizing efforts.
- Handle and resolve employee relations issues, incorporating consistent and timely disciplinary standards, and preparing and documenting corrective action notices.
- Administer company safety programs by conducting monthly safety meetings, facility inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Investigate and complete reports for work-related injuries or vehicle accidents/incidents, submitting paperwork to appropriate insurance carriers promptly.
- Train new drivers/helpers on the company Driver Training program, DOT drug and alcohol program, and proper use of assigned equipment.
- Submit incident alert emails on the same day of occurrence.
- Respond promptly to action item-related emails.
