The Opportunity:
- The Transportation Manager coordinates and supervises the overall operations, activities and drivers within direct area of responsibility. Performs duties of Dispatcher as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision and oversight to direct reports (drivers) within direct area of responsibility.
- Working in conjunction with the Branch Manager and the Human Resources Department, actively participates in the applicant hiring and termination process. Interviews and screens applicants to identify qualified candidates, appropriately explains job content and performance expectations to applicants, and provides hiring and termination recommendations.
- Maintains a viable relationship with truck drivers and customers to ensure needs are met at all times.
- Develops and assists in the evaluation of driver routes; performing and updates scheduling, maps utmost efficient and timely routes.
- Provides training and supervision of all truck drivers on all routes and provides support to Branch Manager. Promptly reports any staff issues or concerns to Branch Manager for follow-up and resolution.
- Coordinates with the Fleet Manager and ensures all trucks are routinely serviced, registered, and inspected and that all decals are maintained, as required. Ensures that truck logs and gas receipts are submitted on a daily basis. Maintains equipment records and employee files
- Conforms to expected time tables and communicates any changes in schedule, operational difficulties, etc., to Branch Manager
- Ensures the maintenance and cleanliness of trucks in accordance with established health and safety checklists. Establishes and monitors system of vehicle safety checks.
- Responsible for developing a culture of safety among all direct reports by serving as a role model of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for the fundamental rights, dignity and privacy of others
- Responsible for immediately reporting and overseeing the clean-up and restoration of all spills, mix, accidents as required by company policy and government rules and regulations. Implements crisis intervention techniques as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by operational needs.
- Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
- Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s policy and procedure.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 3–5 Years supervisor experience
- Valid Class A Driver’s License is a plus
- 3-5 Years dispatching and/or logistics experience
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English (Bi-lingual preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
- Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail
- Proven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment and ability to deal with a variety of issues in different situations.
- Solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
