GENERAL
The Transportation Liaison Peer Support Specialist will utilize a diverse and
crucial skillset to safely transport clients from the pickup location to one of our treatment facilities; provide
recovery-oriented services to individuals who suffer from a behavioral health diagnosis in a variety of
settings; and act as a liaison with the local healthcare and the business community. The services this role
shall provide include a wide range of supports, services, shared experience, and advocacy that
contribute to a client’s ability to engage in ongoing treatment while identifying and developing key
referral sources to build working relationships with contacts to maintain or increase the quality and
quantity of referrals for our residential and outpatient centers. As well as, ensure compliance with all HIPPA
laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky, or eligible to become a Peer Support Specialist.
Peer Support Specialist eligibility includes - 1 year or more of continuous sobriety, a substance abuse diagnosis, and completed treatment for a substance abuse disorder.
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Self motivated
- Availability to work some evening, overnight and/or weekend shifts
- Good communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule
- Ability to enforce program requirements
- Problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer skills
DUTIES
- Safely transport clients from wherever they may be to one of our treatment facilities.
- Interact positively with jails, homeless shelters, social workers, or other individuals that may initiate the need for services and transportation.
- Provide curriculum-based services in correctional institutions.
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Have positive communication and interactions with all potential clients.
- Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
- Work with peers to identify wellness and recovery goals.
- Document all peer contact services within 24 hours of the session.
- Minimum requirement of one hour of documented individual supervision per month.
- Must maintain 6 CEU credits per certification year.
- Demonstrate punctuality, organization, and proficiency in all areas of scheduling, filling, meetings, and client relations.
- Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
- Develop and maintain contacts and/or partnerships in the community. Specifically, with local courts, hospitals, and other referral sources to increase both communication and referral flow among community organizations.
- Work directly with the intake department to help determine which programs and services will best fit the needs of the client.
- Maintain good relationships with intake staff, administrative personnel, and external professional groups and agencies.
- Build and strengthen relationships with media, government, community and related organizations.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional working relationship with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s staff and consumers alike.
- Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.
- Protect the privacy of all persons served/clients’ information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc. privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
