Transportation Funding Analyst II – Transportation Improvement Program - NCTCOG

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking a Transportation Funding Analyst on the Transportation Improvement Program team, which facilitates and manages the selection and implementation of transportation projects within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The team monitors a portfolio of over $30 billion in projects. At NCTCOG, you’ll be part of an innovative and award-winning Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) that serves the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. Tasks will generally include technical and/or public administrative support for projects and programs. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are essential to this position. This posting is for the Transportation Funding Analyst II position, and the individual in this position will be classified as a Transportation Planner II. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supporting the development and maintenance of the regional funding document for projects and programs
• Entering data, assisting staff in ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining database quality
• Evaluating projects submitted for funding consideration
• Researching project histories and providing initial and follow-up analyses to supervisor, team members and/or regional partners for project inquiries
• Tracking project efforts to ensure the timely implementation of transportation projects
• Responding to inquiries received from elected officials, local governments, and the public
• Supporting the Department and committees by scheduling regular/cyclical meetings, developing agendas, and preparing handouts
• Assisting in the administration of State, federal, and regional transportation funding programs
• Supporting the development of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and Air Quality Conformity documentation as needed
• Drafting correspondence, documentation, and reports for various audiences, including transportation partners, local governments, elected officials, and the public
• Performing analysis of project listings
• Preparing and delivering oral presentations to staff and committee members

• Proficient in collecting, sorting, and compiling data for analysis
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
• Detail oriented, highly organized, with an ability to handle multiple assignments/tasks and work well in a deadline-driven environment without diminishing quality of work
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in analytical, quantitative methods (i.e., business or public administration, public policy, government/political science, urban/transportation planning, accounting, finance, geography, or related field
• At least one year of job-related experience

Starting Salary Range

Minimum of $51,874.00 – $62,248.80 annually
