Job Description:
*This job can be based in our Philadelphia, Wayne or Pittsburgh, PA offices.
As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;
-Working as a Project Technical Leader for highway design projects and pursuits throughout Pennsylvania and the Northeast.
-You will be responsible for coordination and management of the technical content of projects including driving the technical vision of the end product, ensuring the technical accuracy of the work product, ensuring the right technical skill sets are on the project at the correct time, developing and mentoring technical project staff, and coordinating all aspects of the project with our clients.
-Providing day-to-day direct oversight of transportation planning and design projects.
-Developing project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates.
-Writing of technical reports.
-Providing quality reviews of highway design projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
-Professional engineering (PE) license.
-10 years of related experience.
-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
-PE licensure in Pennsylvania and a strong background in the delivery of roadway and highway design projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
-Experience in task management and delivering roadway/highway design projects from initiation through final design.
-Strong communication and technical writing skills.
-Experience completing hydraulic and hydraulic analysis of drainage systems and designing stormwater management.
