TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
The Transport Driver is responsible for driving the facility vechicle to transport residents to desired destinations. and reports directly to the Administrator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides physical assistance to each participant when needed as he/she boards and disembarks from the program's vehicle.
Ensures that emergency medical information is available for those participants being transported.
Maintains the first aide kit in the vehicle.
Ensures that all passengers wear safety belts and wheelchairs are locked into position.
Maintains vehicle in neat and clean condition anticipanting needed mechanical service so appointments can be arranged that are convenient to program operations.
Keeps vechicle maintenance records current; coordinate and schedule routine and episodic vehicle maintenance.
Reports to Supervisor any vehicle operating problems, malfunctions or incidents out of the ordinary routine.
Maintains accurate daily records of number of trips, individuals transported, miles and gallons of gas.
Compiles all necessary information to meet reporting requirements.
Transports residents to and from physician or other medical appointments.
Assist with program activities by transporting participants to an event, as coordinated by the Activities Manager.
Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
Lifts patients in and out of bed, chairs, taxis and ambulances to move them to and from treatment areas and procedure rooms.
Schedule appointments for residents.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ year in experience in the healthcare setting perferred.
CPR/BLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Clean driving record.
Valid Driver's License.
Must have clear/active CNA license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
Incumbent meay be exposed to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear with specific vision abilities required to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision and ability to focus.
This psotion is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
Te employee must frequently lift or move objects and residents weighing over 50 pounds.
