About the Job
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager and Senior Transportation Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator executes domestic load tenders and will be called upon to assist the Senior Transportation Coordinator in planning the loads.
Candidates must reside in or around Atlanta to be considered for this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Coordinates and executes transportation shipments
- Outbound, Inbound and transfer execution. Creation of the load in the TMS. Assign load to a carrier based on the routing guide.
- Execute load Tenders and confirm bookings with the carrier.
- Send pre-trip notifications to all related parties.
- Confirm and if necessary secure p/u and del appointments.
- Any revised shipping dates upon appointment confirmation will be updated in the TMS and in the ERP(BC).
- Reverse logistics execution, including failed deliveries. Assist Senior transportation coordinator in scheduling and executing reverse logistics or redeliveries.
Maintain the integrity of data in the TMS.
- Update any revisions to the shipments and Loads in the TMS.
- For all executed loads, correspond with the assigned carriers on the status of the loads and confirm the data in the TMS is accurate.
On time Delivery
- Confirm that all assigned loads are scheduled and shipped daily.
- Confirm all deliveries of the shipments on the requested delivery dates. Keep a separate on time log.
- Confirm and validate accessorial fees based on correspondence.
- For key accounts, keep a log of delivery schedule and correspond with account services representatives.
Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
- Proactively communicates with the customers of any delayed shipments that fall outside of the customer’s expectations.
- Ensure all inquiries from customers are answered within an hour.
- Coordinate with Account Service Coordinator to mirror shipment data in both TMS and the ERP.
Education/Experience
Required:
- 1+ year of experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- Transportation coordinator experience
- Warehouse Shipping experience
