Armstrong World Industries is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to be located in Lancaster, PA. The analyst is responsible for proactively facilitating the achievement of the organization’s transportation services and financial goals. Additionally, the Supply Chain Analyst will serve as a key liaison to the organization, including the development and implementation of action plans supporting service and transportation strategies as well as accurate freight payment.
Key Responsibilities of the Analyst:
- Conduct analysis of transportation costs, including freight expenses, carrier performance, and cost fluctuations. Identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
- Support transportation budget management, forecast costs, and track performance against financial targets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, perform cost-benefit analyses, and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to transportation and financial reporting.
- Coordinating effective Logistics provider relationships to meet customer shipping and delivery requirements
- Developing appropriate KPI’s for service provider performance measurements
- Supporting performance reviews with transportation providers
- Developing and executing procurement strategies in support of a Core Carrier Program
- Supporting the company with all modes of transportation, including TL, LTL, small pack, Rail, IML, Ocean, Air, and the administration of all functions
- Coordinating methods and use of transportation systems to perform accurate freight rating and accrual processes
- Ensuring carrier contracts support lowest costs and superior service initiatives
- Strengthening partnerships with transportation providers delivering win-win results
- Providing back-up support for the Manhattan TP&E freight rate management system
- Assisting in execution of all aspects of freight programs, including rate establishment, maintenance and communication
- Assisting Manager with financial guidance for forecasting, PPV, budget building and strat-plan development as well as payment for freight invoices
- As needed, support the business with Shipping Loss and Damage Claims
- Coordinating and leading process improvement activities to improve transport delivery services and improve cost
- 10% travel
Required Qualifications for the Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Cost Accounting or other related field
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and concisely
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Excellent in desktop software applications, including Microsoft Office- Excel and Access
- Ability to interact with all levels with customers, 3rd party providers and internal stakeholders
Desired Qualifications for the Analyst:
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Manhattan and/ or Four Kite Transportation software
- Previous SAP experience
