Job Description Summary

The Transplant RN Coordinator reports to the Transplant Program Manager of the Transplant Center. Under general supervision, the Transplant RN Coordinator develops and uses advanced clinical management, consultation, education and research to promote quality care for the specific transplant patient populations. Provides growth in clinical knowledge through research-based practice with peers. This position is responsible for the ongoing training of new staff and keeping up-to-date with the regulatory changes in UNOS and CMS. This Transplant RN coordinator position focuses primarily on the coordination of care of the solid organ liver transplant population.

Job Description

Job requirements: A Bachelor's degree in nursing and three years’ experience as a registered nurse. Transplant nursing experience preferred. Current South Carolina licensure or compact state required. An ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide range of groups and individuals. Highly developed analytic skills, interpersonal skills and organization skills. Must have emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure and during stressful or emergency situations. Must maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and confidentiality. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) is preferred.
