A Training Specialist, is a highly engaged team member that possesses a high level of acuity in optical and is focused on developing a patient-focused and goal oriented team member.
Essential Responsibilities
- Enhance processes and workflow by taking initiative to build action plans to increase the efficiency and profitability of the office
- Create, edit, and publish courses for our LMS.
- Ensure company, visual communication, and brand standards are met.
- Deliver New Hire and ongoing training with emphasis on patient care and sales skills, product knowledge, as well as ECP policies and procedures.
- Deliver New Hire or upskilling in virtual, in person or brick and mortar facility
- Conduct ongoing refresher and cross-training modules in critical areas as identified by the Optometry Operations teams.
- Actively engage in constructive conversations with employees to help address improvement areas and formulate follow-up actions
- Actively train employees on how to provide a world-class patient experience
- Motivate employees by remaining positive and communicating any changes or news in a supportive and constructive way
- Ensure employees are always compliant with HIPAA
- Follow up with new employees after the initial training period
- Introduce and provide high level training for staff on active systems, optical equipment, anatomy of the eye, physiology, patient care, contact lens, optical troubleshooting, optical sales, lab knowledge, product knowledge and office culture
- Ensure completion of assigned Academy training by deadlines.
- Monitor progress of assigned Academy training and provide weekly reporting to leaders.
- Develop training content that can be utilized across optometry to address organizational needs.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with operational leaders to partner with leaders and the optometry training organization in identifying training needs.
- Identify training opportunities within the region and bring recommendations to the team.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related area of study preferred. Minimum of 2 years of optical or industry-related experience. Previous training experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in eLearning development and course building experience using various authoring tools (e.g.,Dayforce background or similar LMS system background, Articulate 360, Storyline 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.); required.
- Prior experience with learning management systems and various learning delivery modalities, such as self-paced learning, mobile learning, instructor-led learning, asynchronous and synchronous e-learning, and blended learning; required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations inside and outside of assigned region with minimal notice when applicable
- Ability to work weekends when applicable
- Desire to gain industry knowledge and training
- Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals
- Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change
- Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
- Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business as needed
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all departments of ECP
- Ability to flex approach to ensure content is understood by employees
- Ability to travel on a regular basis to ensure training needs are met.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
