OVERALL FUNCTION
The responsibility of the Training and Development Coordinator is to assist in the day-to-day operations of training & development. This involves the coordination of all activities and logistics regarding the onboarding of new representatives, National Training Program (NTP) & ongoing education, with an emphasis on representatives in their first two years with Northwestern Mutual. This role takes responsibility for the coordination as well as partnering on the ongoing evolution and strategy with development systems and processes, as well as training.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures financial representative candidates heading into NTP are fully prepared and drives a consistent experience with field mentors. Manages and helps execute on pre-NTP checklists or other tools to keep both mentors and new candidates organized and on task prior to the start of training.
• Coordinates all logistics for new representative and staff training events including room set-up, creating reports, meals, technology, scheduling of facilitators, and preparation of all materials for facilitators. Invites representatives and distributes pre-work.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Gathers feedback on training and coordinates debrief meetings with management and facilitators.
• Strives to streamline processes and practices, moderates and proactively problem-solves training issues as an overall component of office best practices.
• Supports faculty members including training and selection of facilitators, facilitator development plans and evaluation assessments.
• Manages NM Learn system and course assignment tracts, ensures regulatory and legal compliance, and demonstrates current instructional practices and emerging technologies.
• Schedules reminders for completion of 30 – 90 – 180-day scorecards.
• Participates in monthly Director of Training (DOT) calls with peers and home office.
• Shares best practices and participates in DOT community for personal development.
• Additional tasks & responsibilities as requested by leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business or adult learning preferred.
• Administrative support experience including scheduling, logistics, and computer skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively & professionally with people at all levels & maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in financial services industry or knowledge of insurance and investments beneficial.
