About the Job
Who trains Training Team Members? As a Training Coach at UWM, you do. Your primary responsibility will be to coach Training Team Members on facilitation skills and instructional design best practices that meet our UWM standards as well as proven educational theories. You will also design and deliver training to our Training Team Members who train classes and design curriculum for our team members (whew, say that fast three times!). You will provide one-on-one coaching, as well as provide support and guidance on instructional design methods, training delivery, corporate materials, and processes for business-specific training teams. You will evaluate and report successes and opportunities for improvements to leadership. This role requires someone with a dynamic, take-charge personality and strong classroom presence — whether it’s instructor-led or computer-based training. Think you’ve got what it takes? Read on.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Sharing instructional design and advanced training techniques with internal business experts and external clients (brokers)
- Facilitating initial trainer certification training, continuous improvement classes, and our mentoring/coaching classes
- Facilitating monthly continuous-improvement classes per month.
- Conducting a minimum of five one-on-one coaching sessions per week with training team members in all lanes
- Evaluating at least five training classes, five material evaluations, or a combination of both per week
- Managing and maintaining training, coaching and evaluation processes for UWM corporate training and for our business training teams
- Developing training materials to use for instruction such as job aids, PowerPoint slides, participant and facilitator guides
- Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with training team leaders, trainers, instructional designers, business experts, internal and external clients
- Demonstrating our core values on a regular basis and consistently hitting your monthly goals
- Actively seeking and delivering coaching and feedback in a mentoring capacity to new trainers and developers throughout the company
- Leading/assisting/facilitating other training and leadership training platforms, initiatives, or projects as needed
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of corporate training experience or related experience
- Demonstrated success in facilitation and material development
- Familiarity or experience with learning management systems, training software (e.g., Canva, Vyond, Snagit), authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline & Rise, Adobe InDesign & Captivate), and Microsoft Office
- Curriculum development, activity creation, and classroom facilitation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Solve problems and be solution-focused
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to multitask and adapt
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Onsite, full-time attendance
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous coaching or leadership experience
- Mortgage industry experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Successful completion of at least one train-the-trainer course or certification course
