Trainer-Patient Account Specialist - Suncoast Community Health Centers Inc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certified in Billing and Coding or equivalent experience in medical and/or dental billing. Federally Qualified Health Center experience a plus.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Billing Specialist in a clinic or hospital environment.
• Experienced in insurances, claims processing, account inquiry, billing and coding and the reimbursement process.
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, County and Commercial Insurance.
• Experience with eClinical Works practice management software preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to communicate verbally, written and with visual media.
• Able to work in harmony with other staff.
• Must possess the desire to teach other adult learners.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Determine training needs of new and existing staff and their role in maximizing the revenue cycle.
• Training room and on-site instruction on the Revenue Cycle, to include understanding insurance, eligibility, claims, coding and account management.
• Staff Development, troubleshooting and updates for new and existing employees.
• Develop and maintain a training curriculum and materials that encompasses all revenue cycle responsibilities.
• Cross train in all front office duties and other training curriculums, as assigned.
• Maintain open communication with Billing Manager regarding training curriculum needs.
• Develop and administer competencies to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Monitor and document training within the Relias Learning Management System.
• Assist with administrative duties, as they relate to the Training department.
• Work data quality reports, in order to identify training needs and deficiencies.
• Participate in seminars and training sessions to keep informed of developments in the field and integrate relevant information into training programs.
• Local travel required.
• Other duties as assigned.
