Trailer Service Advisor / Shop Supervisor
The Trailer Service Advisor is a key member of the service team, by acting as the liaison between the customer and the company. Offering accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing trucks and trailers in a friendly and safe retail environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides a complete/accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
· Develop new customer's business.
· Write up repair estimates outlining vehicle problems accurately, clearly and verify customer information.
· Create work orders in the company’s software system.
· Communicate updates and follow ups to customers via email and phone call.
· Check on progress of repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
· Handle telephone inquiries regarding inbound work and work in process.
· Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
· Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

· Proficiency in MS Office.

Minimum Job Requirements:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent (G.E.D) associate degree
· Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
· Minimum 2-year experience in parts and or service sales.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field of transportation.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Appropriate manufacturer training.
Physical Demands/Abilities performed throughout the duration of the work shift.
· Heavy Work- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including other job related items.
· Walking/Standing for sustained periods of time.
· Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using entire body
· Stooping/Crouching – Bending body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs, and spine.
· Balancing – Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling.
· Kneeling/Crawling – Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s) or moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
· Whole Hand/Fingers – Picking, pinching, typing with fingers and grasping with the fingers and palm.
· Repetitive Motion – Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
· Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary.
· Hearing – Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
· Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts and/or operating machines and power tools, operate a motor vehicle and determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work performed.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a shop; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to work environments that are not climate controlled, weather, and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot and possibly mold, loud noise and ladders to use for high heights. Potential hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions (e.g. fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases), or poor ventilation, or a workspace may be exposed to smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions as well as being in closed quarters/confined spaces (e.g. crawl spaces, small, enclosed rooms, attics, etc.)
