Primary Responsibilities will include
- Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.
- Support the development of traffic projections, transportation analysis, and/or transportation planning evaluations using various traffic analysis software programs.
- Assists the lead engineer or manager in estimating and tracking project costs.
- Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports and assists in report production and development of engineering designs and specifications.
- Provide quality control/quality assurance consistent with Company and Department standards and the requirements of our clients and regulatory agencies.
- Performs field assignments including site inspections and conducting field assessments of properties.
- Maintains field notes and photo documentation as required.
- Assists with client contact and communication pertaining to specific tasks.
What you'll need
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and E.I. certificate in the state where this person’s work is primarily performed.
Experience: Two - four years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, ideally in the A/E/C industry.

Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with Microstation.
- Experience developing signal design and signing/pavement marking plans; NCDOT design standard knowledge is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the procedures to execute a sound and efficient project, with the goal of developing good project management techniques.
- Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues and subcontractors.
- Effective organizational skills to maintain deliverables, analytical results, and field notes in project files.
- Effective writing skills to assist with report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.
