Round Hill Search seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Trademark/IP Legal Assistant to join an AmLaw 200 firm in downtown Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for intellectual property law and strong administrative skills to support their Trademark and IP attorneys. Responsibilities:
- Assist four (4) attorneys with all aspects of trademark and intellectual property matters, including trademark clearance, registration, enforcement, and maintenance.
- Prepare and file trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other trademark-related documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and international trademark offices.
- Conduct preliminary trademark searches and assist with trademark clearance projects.
- Maintain trademark dockets and deadlines and ensure timely compliance with all filing requirements.
- Draft correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
- Assist with trademark portfolio management, including organizing and maintaining trademark files and records.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and trademark examiners.
- Perform legal research and gather information for trademark and IP-related projects.
- Assist with trademark enforcement efforts, including monitoring trademark use and investigating potential infringement.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing expense reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Three (3)+ years of experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal in a trademark or IP practice.
- Strong understanding of trademark law and procedures, including USPTO rules and regulations.
- Experience with state, federal, and TTAB filing procedures.
- Proficiency in trademark docketing systems and legal research databases.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Salary:
$85,000 - $100,000, DOE
