The Trade Compliance Manager is a functional manager role responsible for day-to-day operational aspects of trade compliance requirements for assigned internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Trade Compliance, this role ensures compliance with U.S export and import regulations including, but not limited to, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Guidance and interpretation of U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR), trade compliance requirements, authorization determination and authorization use for hardware, technical data, and services (licenses, TAAs, exemptions or exceptions), and restricted party screening (RPS) for assigned TDSI business lines.
- Licenses (ITAR/EAR) and technical assistance agreements for hardware and technical data/defense services including drafting and preparing application packages and post-approval authorization management and recordkeeping.
- Review of technical information intended for export for compliance with authorizations and appropriate markings.
- Classification determinations for USML/ECCN and HTS/Schedule B in conjunction with internal stakeholders, including specially-designed catch/release determinations.
- Proactive engagement with internal departments related to trade compliance activities (Program Management, BD/Sales, Contracts, Logistics, etc.).
- Review and maintenance of trade compliance policies, procedures, guidelines, and control plans for TDSI business operations in conjunction with Senior Manager, Trade Compliance.
- Support audits and investigations of business activities to measure compliance with internal policies and procedures implemented to ensure compliance with U.S. trade controls and licensing requirements where needed.

- U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years proven experience in authorization determination and ITAR/EAR authorizations, preferably for an aerospace/defense company.
- Previous experience as an Empowered Official (EO) a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, assess, and synthesize information from various sources to determine trade compliance requirements and actions.
- Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other relevant compliance regulations. Experience with Categories VIII and XII and related EAR chapters desirable.
- Experience in USML/EAR and HTS/Schedule B classification for hardware and associated technical information.
- Proficient in Government systems for authorization submission and approvals including DECCS, SNAP-R and ACE.
- Working knowledge of OCR EASE and SAP GTS desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Software Applications
- Occasional domestic and international travel required.

The annualized pay range for this role is $124,200-158,700 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 5%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
