Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to increase the percentage of underrepresented populations within USCB's teacher preparation program. The selected professional will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive recruitment program to identify, attract, and enroll a highly qualified, culturally and linguistically diverse pool of traditional, on-line, and transfer students.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Banner and Slate student database system preferred.
- Experience in personnel recruitment and school-based administration preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of marketing, public relations, and advertising strategies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management programs for tracking from inquiry to enrollment (Banner and State preferred).
- Excellent presentation and oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships and work cooperatively and effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and use data in decision-making.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel in and out of state.

Plan and coordinate the USCB teacher preparation program recruitment components of the MASTERY TQP program to support the recruitment of diverse Teacher Candidates, including the Call Me Mister program, mid-career or lateral professionals and Grow Your Own efforts.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 5 Job Duty
Schedule classroom presentations with local teacher cadet teachers and students to communicate USCB admissions requirements. Collaborate with the admissions team to process dual enrollment applications for incoming teacher cadets. Coordinate efforts and share student information with the admissions department, Teacher Cadet Coordinator, and Registrar to ensure seamless enrollment process for students.

Attend local or regional Teacher Cadet events both on and off campus to continue to develop strong partnerships with the Beaufort County School District (BCSD) as well as with other districts and schools.

Collect, summarize, and disseminate enrollment data and other pertinent information with the various stakeholders on a regular basis. Data should align to grant and local enrollment goals.

Actively recruit schools and districts to participate in the USCB Teacher Cadet program. Upon establishing a partnership, develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and submit to the Teacher Cadet Coordinator and appropriate stakeholders.

Support the local recruitment team and implement recruitment strategies, including (but not limited to): participating in college fairs and other events; conducting on-campus recruiting events at high school and two-year junior college campuses; and facilitating and assisting with on-campus recruitment events and orientation as needed.

Communicate closely with USCB's Chair of the Department of Education and BCSD, as well as other districts and schools, regarding recruitment numbers and identified needs.

Collaborate with the admissions office and the USCB's Chair of the Department of Education to prepare advertisements and oversee mailing and marketing campaigns as needed within recruitment and retention program implementation.
