Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage and work up a docket of mesothelioma cases, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Handle all aspects of case management from inception to trial, including document review, expert discovery, and motion practice.
- Take and defend depositions, as well as lead the development of trial strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Travel frequently (at least weekly) to meet with clients, experts, and attend depositions and hearings.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 2+ years of experience in litigation managing cases from filing to trial including some second-chair trial experience.
- Strong deposition, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage a heavy docket with minimal supervision.
- Asbestos experience is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability and willingness to travel on a weekly basis.
