About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our clients team in Houston, TX. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of engine-driven equipment, such as welding machines, generators, light towers, air compressors, and more.
The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
Essential Duties:
- · Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field.
- · Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
- · Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
- · Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent future issues.
- · Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
- · Keep accurate records of all service and repair activities.
- · Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs.
- · Provide cost estimates for repairs promptly and submit them to sales for customer approval.
- · Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- · Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- · Other duties as assigned
Salary:
· $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected Hours & Schedule
· 40 hours per week
· 8-hour days – Monday through Friday
· Rotating on-call shift - nights and weekends

Requirements
- · High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in small engine repair is a plus.
- · Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role.
- · Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
- · Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models.
- · Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- · Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- · Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- · Good communication and customer service skills.
- · Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
- · Valid driver's license.
- · Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
- · Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements – i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes.
