Job Details
Tool Design and Fabrication:
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and fabricate precision tools, in both steel and carbide
Ensure that tools meet exacting standards and contribute to cost reduction and process improvement.
Advanced knowledge
Proficiency in understanding cutting and forming theory, particularly in the context of stamping and deep draw processes. Skilled in analyzing sample lines to assess the risk of part failure.
Maintenance and Repair:
Maintain and repair existing tools, ensuring they remain in optimal condition.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to tool performance and recommend corrective actions.
Process Optimization:
Continuously evaluate and improve tooling processes to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and increase productivity.
Work closely with production teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
Collaborate with quality control personnel to address any deviations or non-conformities.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of tool designs, modifications, and repairs.
Document best practices and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in toolmaking preferred.
Proven experience/knowledge of roll threading, beading, notching, and side piercing
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Basic knowledge of progressive tooling
Basic Mig/Tig processes
