Salary:
$24-$32.00/hourly
Summary
Through written standard work, written work instructions, and verbal instruction; skilled tool and die maker to craft dies and metal tools for our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be required to interpret design schematics, cut and shape dies, and assemble the completed parts. You will also need to test the performance of the completed product.
Essential Functions
- Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
- Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
- Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
- Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
- Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
- Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies.
- Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Start up and shuts down equipment in accordance with operation's requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
- Performs mechanical repairs on equipment from hydraulic, pneumatic, etc..
- Dismantle, inspect and replace mechanical parts
- Lays-out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
- Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments
- Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
- Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems whether electrical or mechanical.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Promote and comply with good safety practices and habits, including but not limited to, use of all PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as recommended by the manufacture and or the facility's historical data.
- Knowledge of A/C & D/C motor drives, installation and start-up
- Knowledge of ARC FLASH & LOTO procedures instructed by OSHA & NEC CODE
- Troubleshooting PLC's & HMI Screens
- Others duties as required
Position Qualifications
Education: High school diploma preferred.
Experience: 6 - 12 months related experience
