Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining and/or creating tooling to match part drawings in accordance with quality and production standards.

Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining and/or creating tooling to match part drawings in accordance with quality and production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
- Read and understand blueprints and use necessary measuring devices and equipment to make or modify existing tooling for new and/or existing jobs.
- Repair or requisition replacement parts, tooling or hardware needed to maintain adequate stock.
- Repair/sharpen production tools.
- Make new die inserts as needed.
- Measure and adapt dies to fit different press configurations.
- Understands and communicates the importance of good housekeeping and working in a safe manner.
- Set dies in presses.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Some college courses or technical school preferred but not required
- Journeyman card or 7 years of experience working on the bench as a Die Maker
Mathematical Skills:
- The basic ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide multiple digit numbers. Have a basic understanding of geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding of written and/or verbal instructions.
- Ability to apply prior experience in to assist in problem solving situations.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Additional Skills/or Abilities:
- Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills is desirable.
- Ability to weld and use acetylene torches.
- Bridgeport, Grinder, and Lathe Experience.
