About the Job
Immediate opportunities are available for talented Tool Makers who want to become part of the Johnson Controls team. As a tool Maker, you will be responsible for crafting tools and metal forms for stamping and forging operations.

- Under general direction, designs, builds, and repairs a variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, welding, brazing, and assembly fixtures.
- Analyzes specifications, lays-out metal stock, sets up and operates a wide variety of exact tolerance machine tools.
- Fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
- Modifies dies to conform to engineering changes. Troubleshoots equipment and makes complex repairs.
- Provides assistance and guidance to apprentices and lower-level employees.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as height gauge, gauge pins, and etc.
- 3-5 years of tool and dye experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- General shop math skills for print conversion and basic geometry.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to lift and move heavy steel materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Ability to stand, bend, stair climb, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Capability to work in various industrial conditions (e.g., noise, heat, etc.)
