TIG Welders – Urgently Hiring at Express Employment Professionals

Express Employment Professionals in Chanhassen is looking for TIG Welders with minimum of 5 years’ experience to work at a company in Winsted.  This position is M-Thursday from 6am-4:30pm and the pay is between $20-30/hr DOE.  This is an amazing opportunity to work in a positive work environment that cares about your well-being!  Great benefits and profit sharing!  

Duties:

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. 
• Start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded.   
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors. 
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. 
• Will layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. 
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as TIG and MIG welding equipment. 
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. 
• Examine work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. 
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as TIG and MIG welding equipment. 
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Operate forklift, Jib crane and hoist.
• Operate electric and pneumatic grinders, plasma torches, shears, press brakes, rollers, hydraulic knockout tools, and tube, band, and cutoff saws.
• Utilize Global Shop software to issue materials.
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits while performing the job function. 
• Wears a respirator to safely perform job duties.
• Clocks in and out of work orders in Global Shop.
• Perform other related operations as required or directed. 

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma/GED
• 5 years TIG experience
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and occasionally crawl into small spaces
