BI Data Engineer - Job Brief
The primary focus of a BI Data Engineer is to work with the business and technology teams to design, build, and continuously improve systems and technologies supporting the Data Management, Reporting needs of the organization while ensuring high availability and adequate performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support 24x7x365 production systems as needed with the ability to problem solve across systems and applications. Independent problem solving is expected as incumbents serve as subject matter experts in respective area. Demonstrate a high sense of ownership in all phases of lifecycle management from design, development, testing, issue resolution and ongoing production support and maintenance. Own the system roadmap of assigned systems as the Application Owner (see details below). Provide exceptional customer support. Handle multi-part larger requests, propose ideas for improvement, and work with leadership and stakeholders to formalize request with awareness of value add and effort required. Ability to translate business requirements, designs and guidelines into high quality and secure system solutions. Creates system designs and technical approaches across multiple systems and business processes. Proactively reduce risk of outages and bottlenecks, enhance business continuity. Engage in long-term planning instead of reacting to issues across systems and applications. Develop awareness of enterprise solutions and leverage them to provide the best value to TA. Understand, internalize and live TA's Mission, Vision and Values. Responsible for maintaining administrative, technical, and physical security controls on all systems that are owned or maintained by this role. Responsible for preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data that is stored, processed, or transmitted on systems that are owned or maintained by this role. Responsible for following all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines of the company, including those related to data security

MDM and Data Governance
- Informatica IDMC, PowerCenter or similar.
- Syndigo, Informatica or similar for MDM
Data Lake - Data Modeling, Data movement, retention
- Snowflake, SAP BW or similar
- AWS, Azure, ADF or similar
Reporting
- SAP Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau or similar
- Alteryx, Cognos - Optional
Qualifications
College degree in IT or related field preferred. 10+ Years of relevant experience. Job specific certifications is a plus.

Application Owner (E.g., Application XYZ) - Duties and Responsibilities
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
- Build a deep understanding of the technology and environments, what artifacts are in there, what work is in flight and interaction with other components outside of XYZ
- Knowledge Manage / Develop Environment Diagrams - Socialize with other team members in formal and informal ways. Monitoring Usage and Consumption, provide input to Budget planning
- Allocate 1-2 hours per week for reading/learning what is happening in your technology space - Trends, New features, opportunities for business use, training that you might need
OPERATIONS
Engage, contribute to DevOps process development and clarity - Review cPrime Deliverables - Knowledge Manage for XYZ Understand and Document current failure points (Diagrams would be best) - Build notification mechanisms and production fix procedures. Make these in line with actual business SLA's. Socialize with other team members in formal and informal ways. Knowledge Articles - Try to move as much to Support Desk as possible over time.
